Colgate-Palmolive ups dividend for 55th straight year in 2018
Dividend Aristocrat Colgate-Palmolive (CL) will raise its quarterly dividend by five percent this year, marking 55 consecutive years of increased annual dividend payments.
Toothpaste and soap maker Colgate-Palmolive will increase its quarterly dividend from $0.40 to $0.42 per share, marking the 55th straight year of dividend increases. Last year Colgate hiked its dividend by one cent to $0.40 per share quarterly, marking the 54th consecutive year of higher dividend payments.
The Board declared that the second quarter dividend is to be paid on May 15, 2018 to shareholders of record as of April 20, 2018. On an annualized basis, the new dividend rate is $1.68 versus $1.60 per share previously. The Company has paid uninterrupted dividends on its common stock since 1895.
The current dividend yield for Colgate is 2.4%. In 2018 the stock has lost almost 8 percent, resulting in a $61 billion market cap.
