Waste Management hikes dividend by 5.5%

Waste Management (WM) will raise its quarterly dividend by 5.5 percent to $0.575 per share in 2021. Last year the dividend was hiked by 6.3 percent marking the 17th consecutive year of higher dividend paid.

The increased dividend is payable March 26, 2021 to stockholders of record on March 12, 2021. A new annual dividend of $2.30 per share yields 1.6% at a stock price of $142.

Waste Management, based in Houston, Texas, is a provider of comprehensive waste management services in North America. Through its subsidiaries, the company provides collection, transfer, recycling and resource recovery, and disposal services. It is also a developer, operator and owner of landfill gas-to-energy facilities in the United States. The company’s customers include residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal customers throughout North America.
