Waste Management hikes dividend by 13%

Waste Management (WM) will raise its quarterly dividend by 13 percent to 65 cents per share in 2022. This comes after a dividend hike of 5.5 percent to $0.575 per share in 2021. This marks the 19th consecutive year of higher dividends paid by WM.

The increased WM dividend is payable March 31, 2022 to stockholders of record on June 3, 2022 with an ex-dividend date of March 16 for Waste Management. A new annual dividend of $2.60 per share yields 1.6% at a stock price of $159. Dividendhike.com has calculated that WM will now pay an estimated total annual dividend of $1.088 billion to shareholders.

Through its subsidiaries, the company provides collection, transfer, recycling and resource recovery, and disposal services. It is also a developer, operator and owner of landfill gas-to-energy facilities in the United States.
