Verizon hikes dividend by 2%

On September 6, 2022 Verizon Communications (VZ) announced a 2.0 percent dividend hike to $0.6525 quarterly per share. This marks the 16th consecutive year of dividend increases by the provider of communications, information and entertainment products and services and matches the 2% dividend hikes in the previous years.

The next quarterly VZ dividend is payable on November 1, 2022, to Verizon shareholders of record at the close of business on October 7, 2022. A new annual rate of approximately $2.61 per share yields 6.3% at a stock price of $41.30.

“Our consistently disciplined approach to the market to maximize growth and profitability has again put the Verizon Board in a position to raise the dividend,” said Chairman and CEO Hans Vestberg. “We will continue to execute our network-as-a-service strategy to deliver long-term shareholder value.”

Verizon Communications Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides communications, information and entertainment products and services. The company offers data, video and voice services and solutions on its award winning networks and platforms, delivering on customers’ demand for mobility, reliable network connectivity, security and control. Verizon stock began trading on July 3, 2000. Prior to this date, the stock was trading as Bell Atlantic. The company has been paying a dividend to shareholders every year since at least 1984.
