ADM hikes dividend by 12.5% in 2023 | biggest increase since 2015
Dividend Aristocrat ADM (Archer-Daniels-Midland) surprised many investors with a double digit dividend increase of 12.5% to $0.45 quarterly per share in Q1 of 2023. This marks 48 consecutive years of dividend growth.
On January 26, 2023, ADM’s (trading symbol ADM, duhh..... :D) Board of Directors has declared a cash dividend of 45.0 cents per share on the company’s common stock. The dividend is payable on March 2, 2023, to shareholders of record on Feb. 9, 2023. This is ADM’s 365th consecutive quarterly payment, a record of 91 years of uninterrupted dividends. A new annual dividend rate of $1.80 per share yields 2.1% to shareholders at a stock price of $84.90. The next ex-dividend date is February 8, 2023.
For ADM this also is the biggest dividend hike in many years with the prior double digit increase dating back to 2015. That year the company announced a dividend hike of 16.7%, followed by much smaller increases through 2021. Last year ADM hiked the dividend by 8.1%, and in 2023 this is followed through with an even bigger increase of 12.5%. This marks 48 consecutive years of dividend growth by the Dividend Aristocrat.
