European dividend champion Novonesis announces 2024 interim dividend

The Board of Directors of Novonesis (formery Novozymes) has approved an interim dividend of DKK 2.00 (EUR 0.27) per share for both Novonesis A and B shares for 2024. Biosolutions company Novozymes from Denmark is known for its strong dividend trackrecord of annual increases. 

The next dividend by Novonesis/Novozymes will be paid out on September 3, 2024, with the last trading day including the dividend set for August 29, 2024. This payout falls within the company's targeted dividend payout ratio of 40-60%. The ex-dividend date for the DKK 2.00 per share payment is August 30, 2024. At a stock price DKK 466 the dividend yield for Novonesis is 0.9%.

Danish Novozymes, which recently merged with compatriot Chr. Hansen to form global biosolutions partner Novonesis, is paying an interim dividend of DKK 2.00 per share. The combination of Novozymes and Chr. Hansen creates a leading global biosolutions partner with a broad biological toolbox and a diversified portfolio in attractive markets.

On January 29, 2024, Novozymes A/S successfully completed its merger with Chr. Hansen Holding A/S after receiving final regulatory approvals. The merger, valued at EUR 9.1 billion, involved exchanging all Chr. Hansen shares for 187,298,646 Novozymes shares. Chr. Hansen, a leading bioscience company with innovative microbial and fermentation technology, is now part of Novozymes. The merger is treated as a business combination under IFRS 3, with Novozymes as the acquirer. The provisional allocation includes EUR 5.3 billion in goodwill and EUR 4.5 billion in other intangible assets.
