York Water hikes dividend yet another 4% in 2024
The York Water Company (YORW) will hike its dividend by 4% in 2024. This brings the track record to 28 consecutive years of increases. YORW has hiked the dividend by 4% for 8 consecutive years.
The YORW Board of Directors at their November 25th meeting declared a quarterly dividend of $0.2192 per share, a 4% increase. The dividend is payable January 15, 2025, to shareholders as of record date December 31, 2024. At a stock price of $35.84 the dividend yield for YORW is 2.45%.
This is the 616th consecutive dividend to be paid by The York Water Company. JT Hand, President and CEO, stated, "In 2024 The York Water Company received National, Regional and State recognition for our extraordinary accomplishment in completing our Lake Williams Dam Rehabilitation project on time and on budget. York Water, which is the oldest publicly traded company in the nation, has never missed a dividend in over 208 years. This is believed to be the longest record of consecutive dividends in America.

The York Water Company is an investor-owned water utility, impounding, purifying and distributing water. The company provides its customers within York and Adams Counties (Pennsylvania) with water, wastewater, and related services. The Company is regulated by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and obtains its water supply from the south branch and east branch of the Codorus Creek. YORW has two reservoirs, Lake Williams and Lake Redman. York Water, which is the oldest publicly traded company in the nation, has never missed a dividend in over 200 years.
